Bark in the Park | State College pet photographer
Last week my husband and I took Izzy and Kita to the State College Spikes Bark in the Park night. If you’ve never been, then you’ve been missing out! I think Izzy has been to every Bark in the Park night since this event started a few years ago. It’s so much fun, she loves all the attention she gets as well as the extra treats!
Since this was Kita’s first time attending, she was a little overwhelmed at first. Being a smaller dog, it’s hard to walk around with all kinds of dogs walking up to her as well as kids who want to pet her. But she settled down when we took our seats and did really well. I’m looking forward to taking her later this summer when I’m sure she’ll be more comfortable.
Bark in the Park is the most successful event the State College Spikes baseball team has during it’s short summer season. It’s so successful that they now have 2 Bark in the Park nights. It’s not uncommon to see over 300 dogs attend the ball game with their owners. Vendors can set up a table, you’ll learn about pet related businesses in the area and meet a few dogs are looking to find their forever homes. Inevitably, I always run into friends I know and make new ones before the night is over.
As for who won the game, I’m still not sure! There’s so much to see and do I rarely get to watch much of it. The girls were pretty tuckered out by the time we got home, they were asleep long before their usual bedtime.
If you missed this Bark in the Park, mark your calendars and plan to attend the next one on August 1st. As long as the weather cooperates, you can be sure the girls and I will be there!
